IIPT's Special Envoy visits TPM
Dr. Fabio Carbone, Special Envoy of International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT), accompanied by Mr. Mojtaba Ebadi Fath, International Relations’ Officer of Holy Defense Museum, visited Tehran Peace Museum on May 7th 2019. Mr. Taghipour Moghadam, director of TPM, guided him on Museum’s tour and provided him with a thorough explanation regarding different sections of the Museum accompanied by the simultaneous translation provided by one if the Museum's intern.The explanation of the second section of the Museum was given by Mr. Mohammadi, one of the chemical weapons victims guides of TPM. At the end of the tour, while reading the main Message of TPM on the nature of peace, Dr. Carbone expressed his sympathy.
After the visit, he had a meeting with the Head of Education department and the Executive Manager of TPM. During this meeting, Dr. Carbone mentioned some points regarding the story of TPM. Then, with an emphasis on the common purpose of IIPT and TPM, “promoting a Culture of Peace”, the grounds of cooperation were considered in three scopes including: education, research and field projects.
IIPT is a not for profit organization dedicated to fostering travel and tourism initiatives that contribute to international understanding, cooperation among nations, an improved quality of environment, cultural enhancement and the preservation of heritage, poverty reduction, reconciliation and healing wounds of conflicts; and through these initiatives, helping to bring about a peaceful and sustainable world. Dr. Carbone is the IIPT's Special Envoy for Iran.
